Leonard W. “Lenny” Wood, Exploration Manager
Mr. Wood began his career in Dallas as a Geologist for Matador Petroleum Corporation in January 2002. Mr. Wood worked both the Permian Basin and East Texas Basin for Matador (subsequently Tom Brown Inc. and EnCana Corporation) before leaving in July 2005 to join EOG Resources in Midland, TX. At EOG, Mr. Wood held various geologic positions including Senior Geologist and Geologic Advisor before becoming Exploration Manager in July 2011. As Exploration Manager, Mr. Wood oversaw all Permian exploration efforts as well as successful horizontal development programs in both the Wolfcamp Shale Play in the southern Midland Basin and the Leonard (Avalon) Shale Play in SE New Mexico. Mr. Wood left EOG in March 2013 to join Bold Energy III. Mr. Wood received his B.S. in Geology from Midwestern State University in December 1999 and his M.S. in Geology from Texas Tech University in December 2001. Mr. Wood is a member of AAPG, WTGS, PBS-SEPM, and is a partner in Bold Energy III.
Abner Godoy, Geologist
Mr. Godoy began his career in July 2014 with Bold Energy III, LLC as a Geology Tech. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Geo Science with a concentration on Geology. Mr. Godoy recently received his Masters in Geology from UTPB.
Tom McCray, Reservoir Engineering Manager
Mr. McCray began his career as a Reservoir Engineer with Shell in Houston, TX in January 1991. At Shell, he worked on development of numerous Permian Basin water/CO2 floods and exploration projects, with emphasis on infill drilling and improved recovery. In 1997 he transferred into the Acquisition & Divestiture department with Altura (a Joint Venture of Amoco and Shell), where he worked with the team to find and acquire fields with EOR potential. Mr. McCray joined the Midland Division of EOG resources in 1998, where he worked 13 years, holding several reservoir engineering positions focusing on horizontal drilling of tight, conventional reservoirs. He worked as Reservoir Engineering Advisor to model and develop unconventional oil and gas resource plays, including the Fort Worth Basin Barnett and Midland Basin Wolfcamp horizontal drilling programs. In 2011, he accepted an engineering position at Whiting Oil and Gas in the Permian operations group working both conventional production and unconventional exploration and development. Mr. McCray left Whiting in April 2013 to join Bold Energy III. Mr. McCray received both his B.S. (December 1988) and M.S (December 1990) in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. Mr. McCray is a member of SPE, and is a partner in Bold Energy III.
